Wellness Wednesday : Self Love

Well friends it’s my first day being a thirty-two year old. One of the biggest lessons I learned this last year is the importance of self love. Sometimes it takes going through hardship to realize how important it is to take care of yourself. Whether it feels like your world is falling apart or you feel like you’re on top of the world, self love is important! Below I am going to share four things I do to show myself some self love!

An easy way to show yourself some self-love is with exercise. My exercise of choice is yoga. I always feel better after & I have never regretted it. I like to follow up my yoga with a short meditation as well. The yoga relaxes & stretches out my body and the meditation relaxes & clears my mind! I even diffuse a special blend of essential oils to help me relax even further.

Another great way to show yourself some self love is to spend time doing things that you love. Make it a priority for yourself to get to do things you want to do. You’re going to run out of ammo real quick when you aren’t stopping to take care of yourself & enjoy your life!

The biggest thing you can do for yourself in my opinion though, is to cut out the toxic people in your life. If you only take away one thing from this post take this, people who consistently make you feel bad about yourself DO NOT DESERVE A PLACE IN YOUR LIFE! I am telling you, cutting ties may be hard but the weight that is lifted when you do is unbelievable! Toxic people are manipulative, they talk down to you, they consistently poke fun at your expense, they don’t support your aspirations, & the relationship is completely one-sided. If you have someone like this in your life, take a deep breath & cut them loose! You don’t owe anyone an explanation for taking care of yourself. Once you find your tribe, love them hard!

The last thing I do for myself is going to therapy. I know I keep saying I am going to do a whole post about it, & one day I will, ha. But seriously. I firmly believe everyone should be going to therapy. Having an unbiased person, completely removed from your life, listen to your problems for an hour is the greatest thing. I have never left a session feeling worse than when I went in. I love love love love therapy!
